Melody Modell, Director, Student Activities

Melody Modell

I am a graduate of Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama, where I played basketball and softball (though both for community leagues as sports for girls were not available in the high schools--yes, that was prior to the passage of Title IX!). I went on to attend the University of North Alabama and then transferred and obtained my Bachelor's Degree, majoring in Mathematics, from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. My M.Ed. is from George Mason University.

My years in education have afforded me the experience of working in education in many settings. I have worked both in the continental United States and overseas, in private and public schools, in settings including pre-K, middle, and high school, and with student populations covering the full range of socio-economic strata and achievement levels.

I have three daughters, all graduates of the College of William and Mary. They have managed to spread themselves around the country--one in Boston, one in Honolulu, and one in Virginia Beach--thus, defining my travel plans for me!
