Building Initiative Committee

We are always being told that TJ is the county flagship school, or is it the state flagship school? But I have to ask, do we look like a flagship school to you?

As the school population rises and the building ages, more and more stress is being placed on an already antiquated facility.

In a recent fact finding meeting with school officials, the PTSA discovered a significant number of issues that are not being attended to by county school officials: both short-term health and safety problems and the longer term issue of getting a modern facility that can support the educational mission of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

What can you do to help? You can do a lot by offering your support to the TJ PTSA in the following ways:

An online petition was set up to solicit support from the community. The final petition was endorsed by 1442 families and individuals and was presented to the Fairfax County Board in June 2006.
